Northwood Elementary Fifth-graders Celebrate D.A.R.E. Graduation

Northwood Elementary Fifth-graders Celebrate D.A.R.E. Graduation

Fifth-graders in West Seneca aren’t afraid to say no to drugs.

That message was loud and clear as students at Northwood Elementary celebrated the completion of the semester-long D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program Friday, Feb. 3.

The D.A.R.E. program is a cooperative effort between the West Seneca Police Department and West Seneca Central Schools that aims to equip youth with skills for resisting peer pressure to experiment with drugs and alcohol. Lessons focus on providing accurate information about alcohol and drugs while teaching students decision-making skills. This year's course also focused on bullying.
