Second Arrest in West Seneca Burglary

WEST SENECA, NY - A second man has been charged in West Seneca for stealing a Sabres' jersey featuring the 'French Connection.'

Detectives say the Sabres jersey, which was signed by all three members of the Sabres' French Connection, was stolen February 8th from a Klas Avenue home along with thousands of dollars worth of electronic equipment.

The jersey was recovered by police when Steven Lipinski, 20, was arrested by detectives after Lipinski allegedly tried to sell the jersey back to the victim for $500.

Samuel A. Beavers, 20, of West Seneca, is charged with Burglary 2nd a C felony, and Grand Larceny 4th, an E Felony. He was released following his arraignment and the posting of $5,000 bail.

The person who owned the jersey had received it as a gift from Rick Martin, Rene Robert and Gilbert Perrault when his mother was diagnosed with cancer.  The trio gave him the jersey after meeting the family.
