News

BUFFALO, NY - A trust fund has been established to assist a young boy whose mother was killed during a shooting at the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) on Wednesday morning.

Jacqueline Wisniewski, 33, of West Seneca, died after being shot at close range, according to police, in a stairwell inside a building on the ECMC campus.

Survivors of Ms. Wisniewski, who was a single mom, include her 4-year old son Joey.

The Charles F McMahon Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements on behalf of Wisniewski's family, tells WGRZ-TV that contributions to  the trust fund will be used for the child's future education.

Those wishing to contribute may do so by sending their donation to:

Ms. Wisniewski's funeral has been scheduled for Saturday, at 9:30 am at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, 1140 Abbott Rd. South Buffalo.

There are no prior calling hours.

A nationwide manhunt is now being conducted for Dr. Timothy Jorden, an ECMC surgeon with whom Ms. Wisniewski's friends say she had been romantically linked.

Buffalo Police have labeled Jorden a "person of interest" in connection with Wisniewski's death.
